Estadificación del cáncer de pulmón:: propuesta para la nueva edición del TNM.
Resumen
Objetivos Docentes
• Revisar la clasificación existente y la nueva propuesta para el TNM 8, destacando las modificaciones en tamaño tumoral e invasión local, afectación ganglionar y lesiones metastásicas.
• Revisar los cambios propuestos en la estadificación final de las neoplasia pulmonares en el TNM 8.
• Ilustrar las modificaciones establecidas mediante imágenes de casos representativos.
Revisión del tema
El cáncer de pulmón sigue siendo la principal causa de muerte en los países occidentales. Su estadificación se realiza considerando tres descriptores: tamaño tumoral e infiltración local (T), afectación ganglionar (N) y lesiones metastásicas (M).
